RunAmuck NY Pre-Event Prep

3 Days! I’m sure you’re excited aren’t you. Well settle down, and let’s make sure you’re prepared for the big day. Here are a few things you’ll want to make note of:

Packet Pick-up:

We’ll be hosting a event packet/t-shirt pickup at at the event.

We STRONGLY encourage you to pick up your packet well before your race start to avoid waiting on lines at the event.

Parking

Parking will be available at Sebago Beach. Please arrive at least 1 hour ahead of your race to allow yourself enough to time to park and sign in at the registration tent. Use the directions gadget on this page of our website to quickly find directions. And please carpool as much as possible to avoid overcrowding of the parking lots!

What To Bring:

You will want to bring a photo ID and a printed and signed waiver when you pick up your packet. Extra waivers will be available at the event.

Alcohol:

If you plan on spending time within the beer garden, remember to bring a photo ID to show you are above 21 years of age. The park has a no outside alcohol policy, so please respect their wishes.

Volunteers

We’re still looking for more volunteers to help with set up and monitoring. We offer free shirts, food, and registration for next year’s event to all volunteers. In addition, you will receive priority parking at the park. So if your spouse/friend/significant other wants to help, then get them to fill out this form.

Weather Policy

It appears there is a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms for Saturday. Our event is a rain or shine event. However, in the case of lightning, we reserve the right to delay a race or augment the course.

RunAmuck NY Info & Deadlines

This is a friendly reminder to potential participants for our 2011 RunAmuck NY that the last discount registration period will be ending at the end of Monday, June 13th, at midnight.

Half of our races are completely sold out. And we’re approaching or under 10% availability for many other races. Once a race fills up, we can’t accomodate ANY more friends, family, etc.

This is the time to register. If you have already registered, please remind your friends! We also want to remind participants of our account management system that allows participants to make changes to teammates, or transfer their registration to someone else up until a couple weeks prior to the race. So if you do not have a full team yet or might make changes in the future, you won’t need to worry!

Team Information

If you haven’t entered in all your team information, you will need to do so by June 18th. We will send out another reminder as that approaches.

New York Football Giants!

Members of the NY Giants office and former players will be participating in RunAmuck NY. We are excited to host them and wish to promote their cause. They will be running for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. If you wish to donate to their Team in Training page, you can do so HERE.

RunAmuck NJ Pre-Event Info

Parking:

All participants are directed to park at least 90 minutes prior to your race start. Arrive early – allow a minimum of one and a half hours to park, shuttle (if necessary), & check-in. Carpooling is strongly encouraged!

There is very limited parking inside the park and we have established overflow parking at Hopewell Valley Central High School. Once the park’s parking is filled, all participants will be directed toward the high school and instructed to board the shuttle to the park. We recommend participants in the 10AM Individual Race to park directly at the high school, as it is doubtful there will be any parking for this heat.

Bag Area

We will have a bag area accessible. It is open to everyone, but make sure not to bring anything of value. We’ve never had an issue in the past, so let’s be sure that things remain that way!

TIming

Timing will be done by the two large clocks at the finish area. Make sure to note your time. The first sets of participants will be recorded.

Pre-event Packet Pick-up:

We’ll be hosting a pre-event packet/t-shirt pickup at REI Rockville for the following dates and times:

Wednesday (4/27) – 3PM to 8PM
Thursday (4/28) – 3PM to 8PM

We STRONGLY encourage you to pick up your packet at this time to avoid waiting on lines at the event. Although, a packet pick-up will still be available at the event, but you will need to arrive extra early if you decide to wait. The REI Rockville can be found at:

Volunteers:

Parking:

All participants are directed to park at the Shady Grove Metro Stop at least 90 minutes prior to your race start. Arrive early – allow a minimum of one and a half hours to park, shuttle, & check-in.

There is very limited parking inside the park and you will be directed toward the metro if you attempt to park at Lake Needwood.
There will be a number of buses shuttling participants and spectators to the park. As a result of coordination with the Montgomery Police Dept., they requested that we direct participants to the metro in order to keep Needwood lanes clear for emergency vehicles. Please cooperate with us in this effort. Parking is free at the metro all weekend.

We’ve recently had a great increase of demand over last year and we’ve already sold out the singles race. We’ve decided that with 50 days of registration left, we will need to open another race. The newest singles race is at 10:00AM. Space is very limited for other races, so if you are interested please register soon!

This is a courtesy to remind potential participants for our 2011 RunAmuck DC, NJ, and NY events that the initial early-bird registration period will be ending on Tuesday, February 1st, at midnight. We’re extending the deadline by one day due to the recent snowstorms. This is the time to register for our lowest price of the year. If you have already registered, please remind your friends!     We’re working hard to set up everything in order to nail down a date for our NY event at Harriman State Park. It will be in the month of June, like last year. Stay tuned for the official announcement soon. To be notified the second it is announced, please sign up for the mailing list!
